I have eaten at the beach house many times, attended various parties, and been so lucky as to have attended a few catered events. I absoulutely love the place. The food is wonderful, the seafood fresh, which I used to enjoy when I lived on the coast and now because of this place I can enjoy it again! I just went the other day and was delighted to see a new lunch menu, a menu you would not find anywhere else in town. I started going to the restaurant as soon as the new owner took over and I loved it right away. The people are welcoming, the environment casual, not stuffy. I have seen all walks of life treated equally. I always see the owner there talking to people, tending bar, cleaning table, etc. Obviously working very hard to take care of his customers. I think Decatur is lucky to have such a rare gem in town and hopefully embrace the success. It is a favorite spot for me when I dine, keep up the good work Beach House!

Allright, you beat me to it!! It was truly great what you guys were able to do for us!! I saw John just prior to it starting, and I could really tell he was putting his heart into it. Stefanie and Pat were great and so helpful. We really had a good turn out. So thankful. Tell Ken thank you also. Way to go, Boss!! Everyone seemed to be pleased and so many guests had rave remarks about the food and the fact that it was hot. You know how important that was to me. Your staff was impeccable! Everyone did a great job and fulfilled all of our special requests. You know, a customer is going to pay whatever a proprietor invoices them (in most cases barring a dispute) but a price really can’t be put on the integrity and willingness to please of the owner, chef, and staff. Great food, awesome service and excellent location. The Beach House is a must to try if your in the Central Illinois area. This is a great place for lunch, dinner and parties. My wife and I attended her class reunion here a couple of summer's ago and it was a blast.
Nothing beats their Crab Cakes with a Pint of Stella in July!

I do love this resturant. The food is very good and prices are very reasonable. I have had both excellent steak and seafood there. I really enjoy sitting on the deck with a class of wine enjoying good company and good food there. It really is a hidden gem of Decatur.

I love this restaurant. Especially in the summer when you can sit outside, chill out, eat excellent food which is rare in central IL. For the people who hate applebees and non fresh food, and crave the sophisticated palette of a big city urban eatery, I suggest visiting Beach House.
